Believers have a unique light, just like fireflies. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.” During the sanctification process, life is not perfect, BUT there is an obvious positive change, the dwelling of the Holy Spirt (light) living within you; a cleansing. Jesus Christ is your Lord & Savior, & the path & journey moving forward that you’re on is being led by Him. You’re a new creation in Christ.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ve been to various churches over the years. The infamous “bring a friend to church” request has been a staple of most. It’s mentioned at least once a month, if not more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ve found that some churches are in the business of collecting people like fireflies in a jar. There’s a fire & excitement you feel wanting to serve and do “good”. But unfortunately some churches continue this cycle of bringing more ppl in but lack a commitment of discipling Believers once they’re there so that they continually mature (Hebrews 5:11-14) & grow in the word of God. After awhile, commitment can become more geared to the church building than to Jesus Christ.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Going to church is one of the best & biggest change steps in your walk of faith & if you’re not careful in where you go, you will find yourself spiritually stagnate, moving along with the motions of “busy work”, listening to anyone & not fully utilizing your own talents or growing. Its difficult to pay it fwd & share with others. Your light gets dimmer & then gone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ensure that you are at the right church, praying & studying the scripture for God’s direction. Get a Bible believing mentor/Biblical counselor to walk with you along the way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
