A Mother’s Prayer (Hagar’s Example)

A Mother’s Prayer (Hagar’s Example)

Heavenly Father in the mighty name of your son Jesus Christ, we humbly come before your throne Lord God.  We pray that any feelings or anger, hurt or frustration be left at your feet. We know that you are the author and finisher and creator of all things.  And no matter how things look or appear to us by sight, we know that you are in control.  You see all. You hear all.  You see the damage that years of brokenness and heartache have caused to your daughters.  You see the sweat and tears, the long nights, the discouragement on some days not knowing if things will get better.  There have been days when we’ve wanted to quit and tomorrow seemed so far away. We’ve fallen to our knees only to be kicked as we are down. We’ve fallen asleep not because we are restful but because the tears have weighed on our eyelids so heavily, sleep was by default.  Yet You being the God who cares knew we needed to sleep no matter which way that it came upon us.  And look, we’ve awakened each day by Only Your Grace to another chance, another hope, another opportunity, another whisper from You that says “Keep Going”. And we will, because we know that You have a plan and purpose for our lives that surpasses all. And nothing can and will disrupt that.  So we ask you tonight that you continue to watch over our children and keep them safe.  We pray for their Salvation, that they develop a boldness to proclaim Your name and help to bring others into Your Kingdom. We pray that our children know we’d climb the highest mountain just to see them smile and each day accomplished is in dedication to our love for them.  Yes Lord, help us to be thankful for any trials that appear before us because we know that no woman has ever reached their highest point of greatness without engaging in a journey of both pain and joy.  We thank you for this day that only You have created and although tired, we will give it another “Try” tomorrow because the God who sees us is watching and will surely be there. (Genesis 16:13).
