Response to “Men Prefer Debt-Free Virgins Without Tatoos” Blog Post

This is the first reaction and response to Lori Alexander’s recent blog titled “Men Prefer Debt-Free Women Without Tatoos”. I saw a post on a social media site and all then began to see all the commotion the article was causing. I seriously had to read it over 5 times and in addition certain parts several more because I couldn’t believe what I was reading. For a women of God who says she has helped and mentored other women to write such an article is beyond my comprehension at this point.  Since I’ve tried several times to post my response to her article on the blog page itself but do not see it posted, I’ll post here.
“Let me start off by saying I am not a feminist, womanist or any other “ist” that may be out there. I am a Christian. A God-fearing woman who loves the Lord.
Men should be leaders in the home and perhaps some women do have a tough time with the word “submission”and the Biblical view of what it entails. And with that older, wise, mature Titus 2 women are needed to  help and guide the younger.
This article has not helped. If Jesus took the time to talk to, encourage, and love women in the Bible such as Mary Magdalene and the woman at the well showing them mercy,  that they are worthy despite their past, what gives you the right to interpret to women what a mere man may want.
If anything, ive found that those with a so called imperfect past who have given their life to the Lord are the most humble people I have met. They know what it  is like to be lost, to be searching for belonging and to be loved. Some are college educated and use their degrees to help others in need. They may have debt from school, so what.   I see how women walk when they know they are loved by God and give their life to Him, the confidence, their smile. They are transformed and with that transformation they open both their arms and hearts to others who need it. Unlike those that stick their rear ends in the air, chooses and interprets scripture to prove their points in turning away from others or write articles insinuating they may be better chosen for marriage because they fit a supposed Christian criteria for marriage or to be wanted by a man.
You skipped over a slew of societal factors and/or statistics to prove biblical-eisegesis driven points that appear to be backwards, not only perpetuating a standard of judging without wisdom but judging period based soley on personal  views without knowing the individual story and circumstances of thousands of women. Maybe you have experience, but I can’t tell by your words.
And let me tell you, these same women that are left out in your title, may be the mothers, grandmother’s and aunts to the men you’re telling to push women like them away.
No. I am not saying that only women with past can help others. I am saying no one has the right to turn others away bc of it. I’d take Jesus’ thoughts of me over any man or woman. Anyday.”
